The annual fundraising events of Al Mustafa Welfare Trust have begun and will continue until 6 February. In this connection, a grand fundraising dinner was organised at Royal Nawaab, Stockport, which was attended by hundreds of individuals and families.
The event was presided over by Chairman Al Mustafa Welfare Trust, Abdul Razzaq Sajid, while the chief guests were Member of the British Parliament Afzal Khan and Consul General of Pakistan in Manchester, Imtiaz Feroz Gondal. The event was hosted by renowned TV anchor Raheem Jang.
Prominent attendees included well-known business and community figures such as Tariq Ghani, Ghulam Haider, Khanzada, Rana Sultan, Aamir Iqbal, Khalid Mahmood Sheikh, Amjad Hussain Mughal, Malik Imran Khalil, Chaudhry Shahid Anwar, Dr Ajmal, Chairman of Bilal Mosque Rochdale Raja Mushtaq Ahmed, Qari Abdul Raouf, Councillor Muqaddasa Bano, Tahir Chaudhry, along with a large number of journalists and community leaders.
On this occasion, Saif Adam, Atif Nawaz and Aalia Um-e-Rayan presented artistic performances which were greatly appreciated by the audience.
Chairman Abdul Razzaq Sajid shed detailed light on Al Mustafa’s humanitarian projects in Gaza, free eye camps, free food distribution, and various welfare initiatives in Pakistan, Kashmir, and other parts of the world. He stated that Al Mustafa has set a target of 500,000 eye operations in the coming years, out of which more than 300,000 operations have already been completed.
MP Afzal Khan said that Al Mustafa’s fundraising dinner was highly successful, with large attendance and generous donations. He expressed happiness at seeing people actively participating in charitable causes.
Director Programs Al Mustafa, Nisar Ahmed, thanked all donors and said that during the month of Ramadan, Al Mustafa will provide temporary shelter in Gaza, iftar meals, clean drinking water, and other essential services.
Consul General of Pakistan, Imtiaz Feroz Gondal, said that Al Mustafa is doing excellent work in the humanitarian field, especially appreciating its efforts in cataract surgeries in Pakistan. He congratulated Al Mustafa Welfare Trust on the successful event.
Trustee Al Mustafa, Shamama Latif, thanked the participants of the Manchester fundraising dinner and said that the people of Manchester are very generous. She added that Al Mustafa believes in serving suffering humanity and that all donations will be spent transparently.
Earlier, donations were also collected for projects including mosque construction, free cataract eye camps, clean drinking water, Quran memorisation, and sponsorship of orphan children, to which attendees contributed generously.
At the end of the event, a dinner reception was arranged for all participants.
