Arif Ch. uk: A festival titled Indus Two Themes Art and Health was organized at the Oldham Library in the UK, which aims to be an important step towards implementing a five-year plan to keep the young generation connected to the civilization and culture of the Indian subcontinent in the future. Renowned Pakistani artist Sohail Ahmed, prominent columnist and analyst Mansoor Afaq, Sabahat Ahsan Wasti, King Award winner Ehsan Shahid, well-known British social figure and Vice President Razia Chaudhry -Shagufta Gummi-Tahir, and other leading literary figures and the community participated. The highlight of the festival was a tribute to the life and work of renowned writer, playwright and thinker Sabir Raza. Sabir Raza said that we have started a five-year plan to encourage the young generation to stay connected to our civilization and culture. The series of activities will continue regularly. Columnist and analyst Mansoor Afaq said that the aim of the exhibition is to promote mutual civilization and culture between Pakistan and the Pakistani community living in the UK, which we will do through art, health and other means. This is a long-term project that has been launched. At the same time, tribute was paid to Sabir Raza for his fifty years of service. Other participants also paid tribute to this effort and called it the best way for the young generation to stay connected with the culture and civilization of the motherland. On this occasion, a special session was also organized on his famous play “Gudiyaan Diyan Gudiyaan”, which was hosted by Ehsan Shahid, who received a special award from the King of Britain. A seminar titled Art and Health was organized and chaired by Abdul Shakoor Karim. An informative film on the disease of thalassemia was the focus. In addition, a play called Journey of Memory was presented on the topic of dementia. A discussion on Tariq Mahmood’s book “The Second Coming” and the launch of Shagufta Gummi’s book “Jhalli” were also held at the event.
