According to Ug News Europe,On March 1, the Minister of Defense, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, and other senior members of the ministry visited the Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev.Ug News Europe was informed about this by the press service of the Ministry of Defense. It was reported that at first flowers were arranged in front of the bust of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the territory of the military institute and respect was shown.The opening ceremony of the memorial complex was held with the participation of the leadership of the ministry, officers, cadets and professors of the military institute, as well as the families of the martyrs.At the beginning of the event, the memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as those who died for the independence and territorial integrity of our country, was commemorated with a minute of silence.The National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played.Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov spoke about the historical significance of our glorious Victory won in the Patriotic War under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev. Pointing out that our martyrs are a source of pride for our nation, the minister thanked their parents for raising children worthy of the Motherland.It was noted that 549 servicemen from the military institute participated in the Patriotic War.10 of them were heroically martyred, and one person was awarded the honorary title of “Hero of the Patriotic War” according to the relevant order of the head of state.The family members of the martyrs spoke and expressed their gratitude to the head of state for the attention and care shown.They said that they are always proud of their children’s heroism and bravery, which will be an example for the whole young generation, and the liberation of our land from occupation and the happy future of our people.After the ceremony, the Minister of Defense talked with the families of the martyrs, was interested in their concerns and answered their questions.
