On this occasion, the leader of Oldham Council, Councillor Urooj Shah, thanked all the councillors for voting for him and said that I have already done projects for the betterment of the Oldham community, now I will serve the community even more than before – former mayor Chaudhry Riaz – who was awarded the Alderman of the Borough Award at today’s special meeting, thanked Oldham Council. He further said that I congratulate Councillor Urooj Shah on receiving the vote of confidence from the council leader. She is a successful leader of the council – now she will serve Oldham even more than before – Deputy Leader Councillor Abdul Jabbar – Councillor Shahid Mushtaq and Councillor Umar Nashin – Raja Aftab Sharif also congratulated Councillor Urooj Shah on his success as the leader of Oldham Council. He further said that Councillor Urooj Shah has done historic work for Oldham, which we are proud of, and is also working on many new projects for the development of Oldham and the youth. Such a leader who is a role model for all party members and youth, we hope that she will now focus on solving the problems faced by the community of Oldham without any discrimination.
