PESHAWAR:(Report by Fatima Jafar) According to global Times news Agency Europe, Alamzeb Mohmand The introduction of some personalities, their recognition is linked to the outstanding work performed in a particular field rather than their name. Dr. Alamzeb Mohmand also belongs to this tribe. Dr. Alamzeb Mohmand holds a prominent position not only in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also at the national level due to his valuable services, broad vision, in-depth experience and expertise in the field of animal affairs. Dr. Alamzeb Mohmand Sahib was born on March 25, 1964 in Shah Alam Salat village of Ekka Ghand Tehsil in Mohmand District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province to Hakam Sher. He received his primary education from the Government Primary School of his village and passed his 10th standard examination from Government High School Subhan Khor District Mohmand with distinction in 1980. He passed his 12th standard examination in 1982 from Islamia College, a great educational institution of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.He went to Lahore to pursue higher education, where he received his doctorate degree in the Department of Animal Affairs from the College of Veterinary Sciences in 1987. He started his regular professional services as a Sales Manager at Pak Feed Industries Gujranwala Punjab. Later, on the basis of his merit, he passed the commission through NWFP Public Service Commission and was selected and appointed as a Veterinary Officer in the Department of Animal Affairs and here he got an opportunity to prove his merit. He got the opportunity to work in different places in the Department of Animal Affairs. He served as Additional Veterinary Officer in Civil Veterinary Hospital Peshawar, in-charge in Civil Veterinary Hospital Shabqadar, in-charge in Civil Veterinary Hospital Peshawar, in-charge in Civil Veterinary Hospital Jamrud, and later as Livestock Economist. In 2013 he was appointed as Director Headquarters and in 2018 he was appointed as Director Livestock and Dairy Development FATA.
In March 2020, Dr. Alamzeb Mohmand assumed the post of Director General Livestock and Dairy Development, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province and is continuing his services well.It is important to mention here some valuable services of Dr. Alamzeb Mohmand. In 2008, he approved the service structure (four tiers) for the officers of his department.
In 2016, the mobile veterinary clinic project was approved for extension.Directorate of Veterinary Public Health was established in 2016
Directorate of Livestock Production, Extension and Communication was established in 2017. In 2020, he made the contract employees of the department permanent in the merged districts. In 2020, mobile testing laboratories were established to improve the quality of milk and meat. 2021 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province completed the difficult work like Livestock Population Baseline Survey (Mal Samari) with great skill.Thus, about 3000 promotions and about 4000 recruitments including officers and other staff in his department are also included in his share.Among his ambitions for the future, the elimination of dangerous diseases like foot-and-mouth disease in animals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is at the top and along with the approval of the project, work on it has also been started.Thus, they are also taking steps to make Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province self-sufficient in terms of milk and meat. In this regard, they are also in touch with capitalists and are trying to create opportunities for them in the dairy sector.With these initiatives of Dr. Alamzeb Mohmand, not only the Livestock and Dairy Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will continue on the path of further development, but also the prospects of prosperity at the provincial and national levels are bright. Which will directly reduce the poverty and around 60% people of Pakistan who are related to agriculture and livestock sector will also come forward.
