According to him, landmines also pose a problem in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, because they are an obstacle for those engaged in agriculture:I would like to congratulate Azerbaijan for holding such an important conference.I hope that such events will be held not only in the capital of Azerbaijan, but also in other countries.The Assistant Secretary General reminded that the UN finances the demining process in various countries, including Azerbaijan. He hopes that the financing of this process can be increased, taking into account the scale of contamination of the Azerbaijani territories with mines.
