In a remarkable celebration of community spirit, cultural diversity, and local enterprise, Urdu Global, in collaboration with Open Kitchen Manchester, UG Art & Culture, and the UG Women Wing, successfully organised a vibrant Community Fun Fair at the Urdu Global Open Kitchen premises in Longsight, Manchester.
The event attracted hundreds of visitors from a wide range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds, reflecting the true multicultural character of Britain. Families, children, local residents, community leaders, and small business owners came together to enjoy a day filled with entertainment, shopping, food, and community engagement.

The Fun Fair was officially inaugurated by Mr. Sajjad, who praised the organisers for their outstanding efforts in bringing people together through a positive and inclusive community initiative. He described Urdu Global as a valuable organisation that promotes social cohesion by creating opportunities for people of different backgrounds to meet, interact, and celebrate together. He also commended the organisation for supporting local businesses, encouraging community participation, and strengthening relationships across diverse communities.
The event featured an impressive variety of stalls showcasing fashion, clothing, jewellery, perfumes, home products, handcrafted items, delicious food, and many other unique products. Visitors not only enjoyed shopping but also supported local entrepreneurs, women-led businesses, and independent traders, highlighting the importance of community markets in strengthening the local economy.
A dedicated children’s entertainment area included a bouncy castle, face painting, ice cream, games, and family-friendly activities, ensuring an enjoyable experience for young visitors throughout the day. The lively atmosphere created a welcoming environment where families could spend quality time together.
Beyond being a family event, the Community Fun Fair demonstrated the important role that voluntary organisations play in modern British society. By bringing together people from different cultures, faiths, and backgrounds, the event promoted community cohesion, inclusion, equality, mutual respect, and cultural understanding—values that are at the heart of Britain’s diverse society.
The organisers expressed their sincere gratitude to all visitors, stall holders, volunteers, supporters, and partner organisations whose dedication and generosity made the event such a memorable success. They reaffirmed their commitment to organising more community events that encourage volunteering, celebrate diversity, strengthen local businesses, and bring communities closer together.
The success of the Urdu Global Community Fun Fair once again demonstrated that when charities, volunteers, community organisations, and local residents work together, they can build stronger neighbourhoods, create meaningful social connections, and make a lasting positive contribution to community life across the United Kingdom.
