Will the pension reform shake up France again?

Paris, January 4, UG NEWS EUROPE

According to Ug News Media Europe,In his address to the nation, French President Emmanuel Macron wished to live in a united and united country from 2023. He emphasized that it is impossible to get out of difficulties in a divided state and touched on the energy crisis and inflation.Emphasizing that France is the country with the lowest growth rate in Europe, E. Macron said that 2023 will be the “year of pension reform”.Ug News Media Europe reports that, however, E.Macron’s wishes were not met unequivocally by French politicians and analysts. They noted that “national unity” is a chewed phrase repeated by the state. It is reported that his views on becoming a united, united country by emphasizing “fragmentation” reflect the concerns of the French head of state, and his insistence on such statements shows how much the state is afraid of division, protests, and a social environment that can flare up at any moment. Therefore, despite E. Macron’s declaration that he is inclined to calm down and dialogue, it is noted that it is inevitable that the situation will worsen with the introduction of pension reforms at the beginning of the year. Because the head of state emphasized that the pension reform, which the trade unions unanimously opposed, will enter into force at the end of the summer.
Lacking an absolute majority in the Assembly, E. Macron has taken some initiatives to promote dialogue, but has not succeeded. As can be seen from the fate of National Reconstruction, which was established to conduct dialogue, no concrete steps towards establishing dialogue are visible. Since the creation of the council, no dialogue has yet been achieved. On the contrary, the repeated use of Article 49.3 of the Constitution in the implementation of the presidential decrees has led to further worsening of relations with the trade unions on the one hand, and the opposition deputies on the other hand. Some politicians believe that when the executive branch tries to further weaken those who would serve as its punctual partners or allies, it increases the risk of confronting more violent and out-of-control mass movements. This is clear from the strike of the “yellow vests” four years ago and the National Railway Company (SNCF) workers strike in recent weeks. It is emphasized that the President’s call for “national unity” in order to put an end to the forms of protest will not be enough.
It should be noted that for the first time in the last 12 years, all trade unions expressed their readiness to mobilize together against the pension reform.
