According to UG news UK Network,Zaman al-Wasl has learned from reliable sources in Turkey that Muhammad Kamil Sabbagh Sharabati, the well-known Syrian businessman, is being strongly suggested as a potential replacement for Ahmed al-Sharaa in Turkish decision-making circles, as part of behind-the-scenes political arrangements.A high-ranking source, who declined to be named, confirmed that Sharabati enjoys distinguished relations with influential circles within Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), particularly with the Muslim Brotherhood within the party. This makes him an acceptable candidate for Ankara should the next phase require changes in some of the party’s political leadership. The source added that the Turks view Sharbati as a figure with a parallel economic and political presence, especially since he has extensive investments in Turkey for more than ten years and maintains a strong network of relationships with active Syrian Brotherhood groups in northern Syria, particularly in his hometown of Aleppo. The proposal of Sharbati’s name, according to the same source, comes in the wake of Turkish observations regarding Shara’s rapprochement with Saudi Arabia. This was considered a departure from the established general line, and perhaps a prelude to changes in the regional positioning of some Syrian opposition figures. It is worth noting that Muhammad Sharbati, who currently resides in Egypt, where he runs one of the largest textile companies in Africa, is known for his extensive activity in economic and political circles. He has previously succeeded in building a cross-border network of relationships that has enabled him to penetrate the arenas in which he has worked, from Syria, through Turkey, and finally Egypt.Observers believe that Turkey’s proposal for Sharbati at this time indicates Ankara’s desire to strengthen the presence of figures affiliated with its traditional faction within the Syrian opposition, amid rapid regional transformations and the resurgence of Saudi activity on the Syrian issue.
